Annika Venter’s Unimaginable Journey

Twins Who Inspire

Annika and Chene Venter, twin sisters, were diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) at the age of 13. Despite the challenges they are facing, they continue to overcome obstacles daily. FA hasn’t stopped them from enjoying everyday activities although they approach these in their own unique way.

With the support of family and friends, they have participated multiple times in one of South Africa’s biggest cycling races, the Cape Argus, as part of an FA awareness campaign. Their journey and fighting spirit clearly show that failure doesn’t exist – you either win or you learn. Giving up is simply not an option for Annika and Chene, and they are truly an inspiration.
