Twins Who Inspire
Annika and Chene Venter, twin sisters, were diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) at the age of 13. FA has impacted their physical and mental well-being, encouraging them to approach tasks and challenges in creative and resourceful ways.
With the support of family and friends, they have taken part in one of South Africa’s largest cycling races, the Cape Argus, on multiple occasions, to raise awareness for FA. Their journey and fighting spirit illustrate their Unimaginable Journey. For Annika and Chene, giving up is simply not an option; their determination and resilience are truly inspiring.
A Rare Disease: Friedreich’s Ataxia
Friedreich’s Ataxia (FA) is a progressive genetic neuromuscular disease. People with FA experience issues with balance and coordination leading to a profound and life-altering loss of mobility.
